Getting Ready for Aunt Molly’s Big Day

by Raegan Huston on May 29, 2012

Tomorrow is a really big day for Aunt Molly. We knew that it was coming but somehow the day has snuck up on us! Tomorrow is her Spay Day! That means (I think) that Molly will go to the vet tomorrow and become a grown-up. That is my perception of the situation.

Mommy tells me that it is a little more complicated than that, though. She says that Molly might not turn into a grown-up immediately but Spay Day might help just an itty bitty bit. I understand what Mommy says but I’m still hopeful!

Today I spent a lot of time with Molly since she will be having a sleepover at the vet tomorrow night. I’m sure that I will miss her a LOT!!!! It will be so quiet without her. Since she can’t have anything to eat after 9PM tonight, I made sure to give her a really big dinner. I gave her more food than what she normally eats and I put lots and lots of treats in her meal.

After that, Mommy and I took her on a nice long walk. Molly wasn’t quite so cooperative on the walk but I know that she appreciated the exercise. She wanted to hurry home and I think I know why she wanted to get back so quickly.

When we got home, she ran right into the playroom and pulled out toys. She LOVES putting the toys on the steps and resting on the staircase with them. That is one of Aunt Molly’s favorite things to do! I let her play with my toys and she had a grand old time!

Now she is napping but when she wakes up, I will make sure that she drinks plenty of water. She is allowed to have water until bedtime but she can’t have any water (or food, for that matter!) tomorrow morning. I hope that she knows that we still love her even when we don’t give her breakfast!

Aunt Molly has to be at the vet at 9AM. We are supposed to hear news about her surgery by 3PM. I am sure that my tail will nervously be twitching all day and I will be itching with the excitement of bringing Molly back home!

I hope you all will join me in wishing Aunt Molly good luck with Spay Day!

XO- RH
